The goal of safespotting is to get monsters stuck on obstacles so that the player can safely attack them from a distance.
¶ Where do monsters like to stand?
In the images below, you can see that the kalphite guardian aligns
- the southern edge of its bounding box with the player when coming from the east or west
- the western edge of its bounding box when coming from the north or south.

¶ Where should the player stand?
The safespot for monsters coming from the north or east is the south-western corner of the obstacle. From there, simply move east or north a few tiles to safespot monsters coming from the west or south, respectively.
